Networking Can Be Beneficial at Closet & Storage Industry Trade Shows, Conferences and Conventions

Writer: Jeff KleinJeff Klein

Your Choice is Limited:

If you are a closet and storage industry professional, you have the choice of two annual events. In the spring of each year, Woodworking Network presents their WoodPro Expo event in selected cities. This venue is a cabinet & closet expo with a pre-game one-day ClosetCon conference beforehand, initiated by ACSP, Association of Closet & Storage Professionals. The expo is set up like your typical trade show with vendor booths lined up in row after row of displays. This tradeshow is all inclusive and caters to both the independent closet professionals as well as the closet franchises and of course, the kitchen and bath industry.

Did You Know the CIA Has a Closet Conference?

Not that CIA, the other CIA, The Closet Institute of America group. This professional closet & storage trade association conference is presented every year for nearly the past 20 years. This year's event is on October 15th-17th. The 2025 Closet Summit Conference & Vendor Expo will be held in Nashville TN.  As the name implies, it’s primarily a two-day comprehensive closet conference with accompanying vendor and supplier expo (booths, displays and workshops) embedded into every aspect of the conference. The 2025 Closet Summit is more exclusive than other shows as it is restricted to the independent closet business community (does not permit closet franchises, such as California Closets, Closets by Design or Closet Factory). You might say it is exclusively inclusive of all independents. Kitchen & bath cabinet shops are not accommodated at this event unless they are planning on venturing into the closet realm.

The Summit is at the Top of Its Game

The Closet Summit has many unique features. The vendors are not in a separate Expo Hall. Unlike all other trade or association shows, the Closet Summit vendors and suppliers are embedded into the conference itself with booths located along the host hotel’s ballroom perimeter walls and foyer. There are dedicated times throughout the two days, called Vendorama, when visiting with Vendors is the only thing on the itinerary. Otherwise, the Vendors participate in the round table discussions, panel discussions, presentations, all meals and social events and the host closet company’s showroom and shop tours. By being involved in the entire conference, Vendors get to ‘peek behind the curtain’ and learn the concerns of the closet industry in order to be better prepared to assist them in coming up with solutions.

Other unique networking features of the Closet Summit

The conference includes dozens of round table discussion groups, pre-registered non-compete specialty ( known as SEALS / Storage Experts Achieving Limitless Solutions) Team Strategy Groups, Closet University Panel Discussions, and a guided tour of this year’s host closet company’s manufacturing and production facility: This years tour will be The Closet Company in Nashville.

The Closet Summit Conference & Vendor Expo is the largest and best attended closet event in the industry and it’s CIA Facebook page is the most active networking platform at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/CIAClosetSummit
